Facial balancing is an advanced and highly individualized aesthetic approach designed to help people achieve facial balance and facial symmetry. Facial balancing rejuvenates the face by balancing the features using fillers in a quick and safe procedure.

Like the name suggests, this procedure aims to balance the face and give it more symmetry. The treatment allows you to achieve a well-balanced ratio between your lips, chin, cheeks, eyebrows, nose, and other facial features.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR TREATMENT AND WHAT TO EXPECT

Before

Avoids any blood thinners (NSAIDS, fish oil, vitamin E).
Start taking oral arnica to help prevent bruising, and avoid alcohol if possible.
Let your injector know if you have a history of cold sores (even if you haven’t had one in years!)

During

Come to your appointment with no makeup (if possible)
Make sure you’ve had a small snack, and make sure you’ve taken Valtrex if you have a history of cold sores.
Take Tylenol 1 hour before treatment (optional), and leave the rest to us!

After

24-48 hours after injectables:

No dental appt, massage, or makeup.
You may bruise post-treatment! Avoiding NSAIDS, fish oil, vitamin E, and taking oral arnica after are helpful.

We utilize cannulas which drastically descrease the risk of bruising by allowing us to treat multiple areas through just one poke. That being said, always prepare to experience some level of bruising. This is temporary and can be covered with makeup!

Why is facial balancing the best approach vs. filling only one area?

Most patients come in with an idea of the areas they want enhanced with filler. Lips are the most requested area to be treated in the SavvyDerm Skin Clinic.

Enhancement in one area while leaving the rest of the face untreated throws off the balance and harmony of your natural facial anatomy. This is how filler can look “noticeable.”

Addressing the face as a whole is the only way to deliver a result that is natural, balanced, undetectable, and yet impactful.

How long is the appointment?

60-90 minutes per session

Will I look fake?

Finding an injector who aligns with your aesthetic goals is the best way to avoid looking ‘done’ or ‘fake’.

How do I know my injector is good?

Social media is where most injectors display their work, and you can always ask what continuing education (training) they do every year to stay up to date with treatments.

Can filler that I am unhappy with be dissolved?

All HA fillers can be dissolved, but it may take multiple sessions depending on the type of filler and where it is placed.

Can I purchase half a syringe and save the rest for a later date?

No. We cannot save syringes. Once a syringe is open, there is no way to guarantee the sterility of the product, and the risk of bacterial contamination is high.

“One syringe seems like a lot” A syringe of filler is the equivalent to a blueberry. It is actually a very small amount in each syringe.

Do I have to do it all in one visit?

No. You can have it done in the same visit or split it into two.
